June 12, 1979 ~ June 4, 2026

Benjamin “Ben” Wood Guerrant, 46, died on June 4, 2026. He was born on June 12, 1979, in Danville, Kentucky, to Evelyn Conley Guerrant and the late Buford “Woody” Guerrant Jr.

As the Executive Director of A Gathering Place, Ben was dedicated to fostering connections within his community, making a profound impact in the lives of many. He found joy in hunting with his son, Benjamin, who was his proudest accomplishment. Ben loved spending a day laughing without a care with his wife and time with his family, especially joking with his brothers.

Ben is survived by the love of his life Kelli Nealis; his cherished son, Benjamin Guerrant, II, whom he is most proud of; his mother, Evelyn Guerrant (Woodie Leavell); and his brothers, Brian (Tonia) Darnell and Eric (Farrah) Guerrant as well as nieces, Sidney (Adrian) Van Steenlandt, Mollie Darnell, Peyton Guerrant, Chloe Darnell, and nephews, Matthew Guerrant and Andrew Guerrant, each of whom held a special place in his heart.

Please join us to celebrate the Life of Ben Guerrant from 3-5 p.m., Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the Danville Country Club. Rev. Joseph Pusetari will lead a Time of Remembrance and sharing at 5 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Rajan Patel, Nik Fegenbush, Alex McCrosky, Joey Pusetari, Jim Monroe, and Jay Ramsey. Honorary pallbearers will be the dedicated staff at A Gathering Place, along with Faith Crump and Beau Guerrant.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Ben’s honor to A Gathering Place or Heritage Hospice.

  1. We are sorry for your loss. Praying for the family. Our Lord will bring peace to the family during this time of mourning.

  2. So sorry to hear of Ben’s passing. I worked with Ben at Ephraim McDowell in Danville when he was a transport courier and I was in the pharmacy. He was perfect for that job cause he was always so cheerful and comical and the patients loved that. I always looked forward to passing him in the hall or seeing him down in the ER cause he was always smiling and had something funny to say. My condolences to Eric and Ben’s family. I’m sure he’s wearing that big smile and telling some jokes in heaven. 🙏

  3. I worked with Ben at the senior center. He was more than a boss, he was a friend. Always went out of his way to assist those in need. Showed compassion in so many ways, maybe a smile, a kind word, gentle smile, body language. He will be missed but remembered.

  4. I met Ben in 2005 when I was transferred to Danville. Ben took me on the journey of finding my house in Danville. He was so full of life, so much fun and always there when I needed him in the stressful hunt for a house. I’m lucky that I got to start my journey in Danville by meeting him. Always a great smile, such a kind man. He will be greatly missed.

  5. Thinking of your wonderful family at this sad time. Sending you warm hugs and holding you in our prayers.

  6. Wayne and Peggy Castle , our hearts go out to your family during this sad time , we pray for peace and comfort , may you be surrounded by God’s loving arms

  7. Our sincere condolences to his family, and gratitude for having experienced his cheerful caring of so many.

  8. I will forever remember Ben for the “special etiquette” he demonstrated in chemistry class at BCHS! He was a special person and I am thinking of Evelyn, Brian and all of his family during this time. Dianne Oliverio

    • I’ll always remember this. It was the most fun class I ever had! Ben was such a joy to be around.

  10. My sweet Ben….from when you were a little boy I knew you were destined to be something special and boy in my eyes you exceeded those expectations…I could write a book on you but am choosing to just say what I truly know and believe that you had a heart like Jesus…you loved hard, you treated everyone like you would want to be treated, and you loved beyond a measure of a doubt…your smile lit up a room and you were true in your words…I will miss all of this but knowing that you are well, with your dad, and grandparents makes my heart smile…my heart grieves for you and your family and my heart is broken into a million pieces but my selfish ways cannot stay that way as I truly know where and who you are with….rest high my sweet friend and until I see you once more watch over us….🙏💙🙏

  11. So much love & prayers to Ben’s family, friends & loved ones. I’m so sorry this had to happen to such an amazing person. God Bless from The Strevels Family
