November 19, 1951 ~ December 26, 2025

Michael “Mike” Glenn Cody, born November 19, 1951, in McCracken County, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025. He was the son of Ola and Stafford Cody. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janet Cody Matthews, and her husband, Bob Matthews.

Mike graduated from Danville High School, studied English at Centre College, and later earned a degree in Accounting from Eastern Kentucky University. He served the Commonwealth of Kentucky as a Certified Public Accountant, dedicating his career to public service until his retirement.

Mike made his home in Frankfort, Kentucky, where he built a close‑knit circle of friends who became the heart of his daily life. He was profoundly dedicated to his friends—sharing steady routines, quiet conversation, and community at the local spots he loved. The rhythms of his days—an early cup of coffee, familiar faces, and reliable gatherings—reflected the loyalty and constancy he offered the people around him.

The center of Mike’s life was his Dalmatians. Throughout his adult years, he cared for them with devotion, finding in their companionship a source of joy, comfort, and steadfast presence. Those who knew Mike will remember his gentle nature, unassuming humor, and the way he showed up—without fanfare—for the friends and dogs he loved.

He is survived by his older brother, Jack Cody (Nancy); his nephews—John Cody (Susan), Jim Cody (Laura), Jason Matthews, and Eric Matthews; and his grand‑niece and grand‑nephews—Alex Cody Marx (Will), Jackson Cody, Joshua Cody, Jacob Cody, and Ryder Matthews.

Mike’s life was marked by routine, friendship, and kindness. He will be quietly missed and fondly remembered.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2025 followed by an intimate funeral service at 1 p.m. at Stith Funeral Home, Danville, Kentucky.

Guestbook

  1. I am so sorry to hear this. I remember Mike so well. He was a close friend of my brother, David Larson. Thinking of you, Jack, and all of his family. I know he will be particularly missed by his dogs. Ginna Larson Schneider

  2. Mike was one of the most kindest of spirits, and he brought that kindness to so many of us in his high school graduating class.
