Katherine "Kathy" Smith

Katherine Ann Smith died peacefully on October 23, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on August 29, 1948, in North Carolina, to the late Edward and Clara McIntyre. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Charles “Corky” Smith, her daughter-in-law Tina Watson, and grandson Joshua Daniel Watson.

Kathy was a proud mother and grandmother; she adored her family. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and nurturing her passions, including her love for gardening and animals. Kathy worked at Ephraim McDowell Hospital in material management and was a devoted member to First Baptist Church of Danville.

Kathy is survived by her children, Charles Watson, Jeff (Candace) Watson, as well as her grandchildren: Jessica (Billie) Watson Tackett, Aaron (Taylor) Watson, Bailee Watson, Bradley Watson, and Christian (Alexis) Watson, great-grandchildren Campbell Tackett, Emerson Tackett, Ryker Tackett, Spencer Watson, and Laken Watson.

The visitation will be 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Friday, October 31, 2025, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., Friday, with Rev. Tim Mathis officiating at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
