April 8, 1961 ~ August 10, 2025

Sharon Kay Stratton Wilson, 64, passed away on August 10, 2025. She was born on April 8, 1961, in Danville, Kentucky, to the late Edward Garland and Juanita Hilton Stratton. Sharon, a beloved daughter, soulmate to Lonnie, mother, grandmother, and friend, had an indomitable spirit and a loving presence that will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

A proud graduate of Danville High School in 1979, Sharon’s bright spirit radiated through her love of life and nature. She found beauty in things most of us miss. She enjoyed sitting on her deck, reading, and listening to the birds, and she cherished taking walks on her and Lonnie’s beloved farm.
Her passion for history led her to become an active member of the Boyle County Genealogical & Historical Society and the Boyle Landmark Trust, where she served on the Board of Directors. She also participated proudly with the Young at Art group.
Sharon was very proud of her 40 years in retail, managing sporting goods for Heck’s and Walmart. She loved her co-workers and customers, speaking of them often, and built lasting relationships that spanned her career and beyond.
A former member of Immanuel Baptist, Sharon often found comfort in the Sunday morning sermons, listening to Jr. Fields preach. She had an eye for the unique and a heart for collecting, particularly cherishing her Shirley Temple memorabilia.
Sharon was known for her kindness, her thirst for learning, and her ability to make friends wherever she went—never having met a stranger.
She is survived by the love of her life, Lonnie Wayne Wilson; his son, Derek (Jana) Wilson; her beloved grandchildren, Madison Wilson and Zach Pike; her many cousins; her sister-in-law, Melissa (Donnie) Coyle; her brother-in-law, Gary “Brother” (Angie) Wilson; his son, Greg Wilson, and Greg’s children.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City, with Rev. Stacy Wilson and Jr. Fields officiating. Pallbearers will be Derek Wilson, Dennis Ellingsworth, Steve Shepperson, Gary “Brother” Wilson, Camellia Roy, and Jeremy Craig. Honorary pallbearers will be Helen Powell, Greg Wilson, Madison Wilson, and Zachary Pike.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, August 18, 2025, at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City, with burial at her favorite place, Rose of Sharon Farm and Wildlife Preserve.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Boyle Landmark Trust or the Boyle County Genealogical & Historical Society.
