Brian O’Malley, 71, of Danville died November 29, 2023. He was born in Danville, Kentucky on March 6, 1952 to the late William “Bill” O’Malley and Ann Reid O’Malley. Brian was a 1970 graduate of Danville High School. He was a master plumber and his abilities were limitless. Brian was a gifted craftsman who took great pride in all of his work. His dedication as a craftsman gained him the respect of all his colleagues. Brian had a great sense of humor and would give someone the shirt off his back. His kindness and caring were evident in the way he was always helping others. Brian was a true Kentuckian, loving the sport of horse racing, football, basketball and a good shot of bourbon. He also loved music and the arts. He approached every aspect of life with enthusiasm. Along with his parents he was predeceased by an infant son Joshua Reid O’Malley. He was loved by many, especially his best friends Darrell Terry and Jackie Webber. He is survived by his two sons Justin O’Malley and Brandon O’Malley, two grandchildren Bailey Lynn O’Malley and Aiden Manuel O’Malley, his brother Steve O'Malley, sister Lynn Crowder, and his beloved dog Daisy Mae. It was sad to hear Big O had passed. What a guy! He was one of a kind. Funny, smart, talented and unbelievably generous. We had so many great times together. Times I will always cherish. RIP big guy.

I haven\’t seen Brian in many years. He, along with Felix Pages, were bigger than life people in my life from Sunnyside pool. Felix and Brian were the last of a truly unique breed of lifeguards that none of us that followed were able to match. It was a privilege for me to be a part of a great staff that Dick Horn put together at Sunnyside and Brian was a definite center piece. I loved it. I will echo his obituary by saying that Brian was an awesome person. Thanks, Brian, for the memories.
Throughout grade school and high school my brother and I witnessed his infectious personality, caring disposition, and overall love of life. His friendship was special to both of us. He was a great teammate. A true Admiral doing his part to make the team better on both the football field and basketball court. On occasion we even witnessed his life saving skills during the fun time while working together at Sunnyside. One can only imagine what Brian and Kenny are up to now. What a swell guy. So glad for all the happiness and joy he brought to all of us . For him life has not ended just changed .
I was sorry to hear of my friend\’s passing. Brian and worked together as lifeguards at Sunnyside and we worked together to help build the first Pizza Hut in Danville. He was an unforgettable person. R.I.P., lost a good person
Joyce and I alway have good memories partying when Morgan Jim Morley and Gordon lived together. Brian was always happy I don’t think he ever had a bad. Day. When he moved back to Danville I’m sorry I didn’t get to see much of him. He will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.
Best of times sunny side pool
We loved Brian ! He could make me laugh like no other ! Tommy remembers best of times at Danny Smith card games , after basket ball games ! A true joy and jokester ! I worked with him at sunny side 1973-1974 the funnest times ! Fly high Brian
Outstanding guy.
I met Brian many years ago when he refinished a bath tub for us. He was such a kind person and made sure the job was done very well. He was a person that you felt like you knew the first time you met him. Prayers for his friends and family.
Joyce and I are so sorry about this. We had great times when Morgem, Brian Jim Gordon lived together many lies told. We always enjoyed seeing Brian. Such a great guy. We will miss him
