Larry Anthony Ross, 81, died August 20, 2023, at his home in Danville, Kentucky. He was born on January 10, 1942, in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. He was the beloved son of the late George Ross and Eleanor A. Swatko Ross Semian. Larry graduated from Pershing High School in Detroit, a member of the class of 1959. He served honorably for 3 years in the US Army where he spent most of his service overseas as a lineman. He continued his service to our country working as a Pennsylvania State Trooper for 25 years. He worked for many years from the Greensburg Barracks and retired honorably from the Kiski Valley Barracks in 1992. Larry married his loving wife, Judy A. Weiland Ross, on May 31, 2014, in Butler, Pennsylvania. Together they loved to go dancing, travel the world’s beautiful beaches, camping, and spend countless hours visiting with friends and family. He had a passion for hunting and fishing and loved to be outdoors. Larry enjoyed working on projects at home but loved having a good cigar and bourbon with friends even more. He was preceded in death by his dear mother, Eleanor Semian and father George Ross. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Ross, of Danville, Kentucky. He is also survived by children, Rae Ann (Neal) Ashbaugh of Latrobe, PA; and Michael (Kelly) Ross of Greensburg, PA; stepchildren, Aimee (Dwayne) Eisaman of Irwin, PA and Ashley Karcher (Sean Woitas) of Apollo, PA; Benjamin (Jessica) Green of Vidor, TX; Bradley (Emily) Green of Butler, PA; Anthony (Ashley) Green of Nicholasville, KY; Nathan Green of Pittsburgh, PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Anthony and Adam Ashbaugh, Jacqueline Bracale, and Nicholas and Shelby Ross. He is also survived by his step grandchildren Zane Zahir and Elam Eisaman, Avrael Karcher, Brianna and Preston Green, Ava and Lucas Green, Ashton and Levi Green. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Butler, Pennsylvania for friends and family. He will be often remembered by his favorite song to sing to his mother “I love you, a bushel and a peck, a hug around the neck.” A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Butler, Pennsylvania for friends and family.
