William E. Gill, 87, died, Saturday, September 30, 2017. He was born in Canada in the city of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario on November 21, 1929 to the late Ernest William and Emma Clay Gill. He retired from Rexnord-Mathews, where he held the position of President of Material Handling. Bill was a member of the Episcopal Church, and was a ward of the church. He was awarded a plaque for his work there. Bill was most proud of his work as President of the Mentally Handicapped Association in Port Hope, Ontario, his home prior to moving to Danville. He was also a board member of The Pioneer Workshop. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Gloria Joyce Gill.
He is survived by a son, Jeffrey William (Louise) Gill; two brothers, John Gill, George Gill; a sister, Roberta Gill; and two grandchildren, Gia Gill and Ali Gill.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10am, Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Trinity Episcopal Church, Danville, KY. Rev. Amy Dafler Meaux will officiate.
