William Franklin Castle, 89, died August 5, 2023, in Danville, Kentucky. He was born to the late Joe Castle Sr. and Georgia Vanover Castle on January 25, 1934, in Johnson County, Kentucky.

Bill was a graduate from Eastern Kentucky University where he was a former #81 football player and played the center position. He was an accountant for many years for the state of Kentucky. Bill enjoyed playing golf, making candy, drinking coffee, all University of Kentucky sports and tending to his koi pond. He and his wife Patty Ann Castle were married for more than 61 years.

Bill is survived by his wife; Patty Ann Castle;  son, Todd Alan Castle; daughters, Kimberly (Harry) Schwegel and Julie (Chuck) Dansevich; grandchildren, Lainey Castle, Ian Castle, Devon Castle, Rhiannon Schwegel, Jessie Ford, Madison Hord and Haley Pergeorelis; three great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Judy (Ralph) Buckley and Phyllis Castle.

He is predeceased by a daughter, Shannon Castle and brother, Joe Castle Jr.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Bellevue Cemetery. Pastor Bob Tolson will officiate.
