Vernon Reese Young, 90, died Friday, December 15, 2017. He was born in Eubank, Kentucky on April 3, 1927 to Walter and Esther Young. Vernon was a United States Navy veteran and was a farmer. He was predeceased by a daughter Vickie Lynn Young.
He is survived by his wife Christine Martin Young; two daughters, Wanda (Jerry) Wilham of Harrodsburg, Kathleen Denham of Junction City; a granddaughter, Robin Woods of Harrodsburg; two grandsons, Ricky (Natalie) Wilham of Harrodsburg, Scott Denham of Junction City; and six great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 1pm, Tuesday, December 19, 2017, Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. Rev. Darrell Young will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jerry Wilham, Ricky Wilham, Scott Denham, Trey Woods, Eddie Martin, Sam Martin, and Barry Young. Interment will be in Junction City Cemetery. Visitation will be 11am-1pm, Tuesday, at the funeral home prior to the service.
