Stephen Ray Fegenbush, born in Louisville, Kentucky on October 16, 1949, joined his Savior on March 17, 2018 in Danville, Kentucky.  He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Donna Horn Fegenbush.

He was enormously proud of his three children: Kristofer Fegenbush (Robert Eldredge) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Nikolas Fegenbush (Sarah Woodford) of Mount Sterling, Kentucky; and Stefani Helgerson (Matt Helgerson) of Lexington, Kentucky. “Grampy” enjoyed the love and affection of six grandchildren: Margaret and Oliver Fegenbush of Mount Sterling; and Gabe, Ella, Luke and Abel Helgerson of Lexington.

Steve was the beloved baby brother of three siblings: David Fegenbush (Brenda) of Moody, Alabama; Robert Fegenbush (Sandra) of Irvington, Kentucky; and Ann Turpin (Robert) of Richmond, Kentucky.  He was embraced by his Mother-in-Law, Elizabeth “Jackie” Horn; two sisters-in-law Phyllis Campbell (Jim) and Jane Anderson (Steve) all of Danville; nine nieces and nephews, and fourteen grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur “Les” and Dorothea “Dot” Fegenbush of Louisville; and his father-in-law W.A. “Billy” Horn of Harrodsburg, Kentucky.

Steve was a Baptist minister for fifty years, first serving in campus ministry during college at the Eastern Kentucky University Baptist Student Union where he met Donna.  He spent the majority of his career in Danville, serving Calvary Baptist Church for twenty-two years, and retiring from First Baptist Church in Junction City. Steve impacted countless Kentuckians through the years with music, education, youth ministry, a kind smile, practical service and a tender heart. He was an alumni of Durrett High School, in Louisville; Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky; and Midwestern Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri.

In addition to being a loving husband, father and grandfather, Steve was a dedicated fan of UK Basketball, The Great American Brass Fan Festival, buffets, the Blue Bird Market, road trips off the beaten path, the Kentucky Baptist Chorale, reading the news, being a blood donor, national parks, museums, music of many forms, and any coupons or discounts.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Lexington Ave. Baptist Church.  Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at Lexington Ave. Baptist Church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Mission Fund at Lexington Ave. Baptist Church.
