Stella Waraba Goode, 89 of Danville passed away at her home April 12, 2018. Born March 14, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Stephan and Anna Bohunicky Waraba. Stella worked at Ford Motor Company where she met the love of her life.  Stella and Jim married in Detroit in 1973, moved to Alabama, and in 1993 moved here to Danville where she immersed herself in the beauty and culture of her new surroundings.  Stella was a devout Catholic and became a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church where she volunteered in many ways.  She also had a special devotion to Padre Pio.  Stella had a great love for life and enjoyed many hobbies – tennis, line dancing, bridge, gardening, flower arranging, and watching KU Basketball.  She had a special love for children and animals, always seeming to know just what they needed!  She was a friend to all and always quick to ask others how they were doing….she will be greatly missed.

Stella was predeceased by her loving husband James W. Goode, three sisters Agnes (Phillip) Miller, Anne (Clifford) Golden, and Josephine (Charles) Stout, a brother Rudy (Mary) Krizanovic, and a niece Carol Anne Miller.

Survivors include her brother John Waraba of Nicholasville and stepson Charles Goode.  Stella was like a second mother to her nieces and nephews –  Bob and Carol Magill, Greg and Sue Stout, Doug and Jeanne Stout, Tom and Donna Ogilbee, Ed and Kathleen Andrews, Alan Krizanovic, Gary and Beverly Krizanovic, Tom and Freya Bodnar, Bob and Bonnie Bodnar,  Jesse and Tawara Goode, Julia Goode, Dan and Eileen Goode, David Goode and Sue Frey and several great nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass will be at Noon, April 21, 2018 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Father Alan Carter Celebrant. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to Sparrow House, www.hiseyeisonthesparrow.org.
