ROGER DALE DENTON, 65, passed away May 12, 2019. He was born September 18, 1953 in Piedmont, Tennessee to the late James Conard & Helen Elizabeth Denton. He was a graduate of Clear Creek Baptist Bible College, Pineville; Lincoln Memorial University; and Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA where he obtained a Masters in Divinity. He served as pastor of Pine Grove Baptist Church, Pennington Gap, Virginia; Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, Paint Lick; Grace Baptist Church, Dayton, Ohio; Willow Grove Baptist Church & Junction City First Baptist Church, Danville. He also served as the Chaplain at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville. At each one of these places of service he made lifelong friends that he loved dearly. He also loved the Tennessee Volunteers, working in the backyard, and traveling. However, his greatest passion was to the Lord and his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Cates.

Dale is survived by his wife, of 47 years, Brenda; three sons, Anthony Dale “Tony” (Jennifer) Denton of Versailles, Aaron Kyle (Katrina) Denton of Stanford, and Johnny Jarod (Jennifer) Denton of Stanford; four grandchildren Seth, Meghan, Tyler and Kaiden; sister Debbie Robinson, and brother Dwight Denton.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 14 from 3-7pm at Junction City First Baptist Church with a service to immediately follow. Graveside service will be Friday, May 17 beginning at 11am at Hillcrest Cemetery, Dandridge, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Junction City First Baptist Church Building Fund. https://www.jcfbc.org/.
