Robert Lee “Bobby” Smith, 73, died Friday, January 17, 2020. Born February 11, 1946 in Boyle County, he is the son of Ruth Cooper Smith and the late Howard Smith. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Bobby was a heavy equipment operator and loved to fish. He lived for his time with his great-grandsons. He was predeceased by his two sons, Robert Smith Jr and Greg Smith, a sister, Thelma Mae Ward and a brother, Charles Howard Smith and grandson Douglas Scott Smith.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary Wanda Smith; four sisters, Martha Ellen (Lowell) Harrison, Betty Smith (Frank) Bradley and Linda Smith (Buz) Hendricks and Mary Smith (Mike) Belcher; a granddaughter, Hailey Whittaker and two great-grandchildren, Kaedyn and Riley Whittaker and many nieces and nephews..

The funeral service will be 1 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2020 at Stith Funeral Home. Rev. JR Fields will officiate. Visitation will be after 12 noon prior to the service. The family requests memorial donations be sent to Shriner’s Childrens Hospital.
