Robert Carlyle “Bob” Johnson, 81, of Stanford died July 14, 2019 at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford. Born May 19, 1938 in Danville to the late Carlyle and Betty Jo Christopher Johnson. He attended Danville High School and joined the U.S. Navy. Robert was a member of Mt. Freeman Baptist Church. He owned Johnson’s Heating and Air Conditioning and later was a private investigator for KY State Department of Workman’s Comp. Robert loved to collect model trains, fish, and garden. He also loved his family and his dog, Smokey.
Survivors include two daughters, Teresa (Doug) Sanders of Burgin and Stefanie (Ivon) Denson of Stanford, his son, Chuck (Becky) Snead of Danville, seven grandchildren, Brian Snead, Ross Snead, Devon (Tara) Denson, Taylor Sanders, Kisha (Adam) Hicks, Erin (Scott) Myhre, Cliff (Jessica) Sanders, ten great-grandchildren, Piper Denson, Darcy Hicks, Nora Hicks, Wyatt Hicks, Ella Myhre, Carter Myhre, Jayla Sanders, Colton Sanders, Joanna Sanders and Case Sanders, his brother, Steve (Rhonda) Johnson of Danville and his two sisters, Betty (Mike) Webb of Wilmore and Patsy (Bo) Perry of Palm Harbor, Florida.
Funeral Service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. His good friend, Rev. Curtis Brock will officiate. Burial will be at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doug Sanders, Chuck Snead, Ivon Denson, Brian Snead, Devon Denson, Steve Johnson and Mike Webb. Visitation will be 11-1 pm, Thursday, prior to the service at Stith Funeral Home. Memorial donations are suggested to the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society. The family would like to express their appreciation for the love and care given to Robert by his caregivers at Stanford House.
