Peter James Sturdevant, 68, died Saturday, December 18, 2021. He was born in Berkeley, California on September 10, 1953, to the late Glenn and Alverda Cathcart Sturdevant. Peter graduated from Salem High School in Oregan and earned his bachelor’s degree in Spanish Literature from Berkeley University. He retired as a Corrections officer from Deer Ridge Correctional Facility. Peter was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He went above and beyond to entertain his grandchildren. Peter was a great storyteller and enjoyed golfing, reading old books and fishing. He was an excellent provider and loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a sister, Mary Demestihas.

He is survived by his beloved wife, of 41 years, Anita Sturdevant of Danville; a son, Jeremy James O’Connor of Nicholasville; a brother, Glenn Sturdevant (Dee) of Napa, California; three grandchildren, Kaden O’Connor, Kara Ormonde, Anthony James Ormonde and a great grandchild, Arlo James Ormonde.
