Opal Lee Brown, 92, of Danville, died Friday, February 24, 2023. Born May 7, 1930, in Lincoln County Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late  Bryan and Vernie Lee Young Boyd. Opal practiced the Baptist faith all her life. She worked for Palm Beach and was a housekeeper. She was a part of the Senior Companion Program for 14 years. Opal is predeceased by her spouses, William Whitis and Estes Brown; her daughter, Sharon Kay Whitis; brother, Ralph Boyd; and sisters, Christine Waddela. Frances Wine and Shirley June Boyd.

Opal is survived by her son, Gary (Teresa) Whitis; daughters, Linda Bugg and Tammy Brown; brothers, Kenneth Boyd, Eugene (Nancy) Boyd, and Rondal Boyd; sisters, Doris Day and Virginia Brown; grandchildren, Samantha Trotter, Logan (Felicia) Whitis, Christopher Woodward, Angela Kay Woodward and Mathew Bugg; and great-grandchildren, Grace, Alex, Tyce, Trell, Dale and Robert.

The funeral service for Opal Lee Brown will begin at 2 p.m., Friday, March 3rd, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville, KY. The visitation will be held before the service from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Stith Funeral Home or Heritage Hospice.
