Norma Faye Simms Carrier, 87, died Sunday, March 7, 2021. She was born December 17, 1933 in Waynesburg to the late Chester and Nellie Pearl Addington Simms. Norma attended Eastern Kentucky University earning a Bachelor of Science Degree. She was a member of the Photography Club while attending Eastern Kentucky University. Norma was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Piece-Able Friends Quilt Club and enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, and cooking. She was adventurous, loved everyone and was generous with her time and resources. Norma traveled and lived all over the world where she effortlessly embraced all the different cultures. She was accepted and loved everywhere she went. Norma was “Nana” not only to her grandchild but to her nieces, nephews and every child that loved her. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Billy Cecil Carrier and a brother, Kenneth Simms.

She is survived by her children, Neil P. Carrier, and Susan Carrier Baker both of Danville; a brother, James Simms (Louise) of Louisville; three sisters, Joyce Simms Campbell of Danville, Carol Skaggs (Dale) of Springfield, Diane Banker (Bruce) of Cincinnati and a granddaughter, Cass Baker of Danville.

The funeral service will be 12pm, Friday, March 12, 2021 at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. Rev. Brent Rowe will officiate. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4pm – 6pm, Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. Memorial donations are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church.
