Mitchell Bruce Warner, 72, died May 30, 2022. He was born August 27, 1949 in Danville, son of the late Jane Mitchell and Waymon Warner. Mitchell graduated from Danville High School in 1967 and Kentucky Business College majoring in accounting in 1972. He joined the Army serving his time at Fort Hood, Texas from 1968 to 1971. After the Army, he went to work for Brights Bottle Gas, then Firestone/ ATR, and went on to retire from Joy Global. In his free time, he loved camping, and sitting on his back deck drinking coffee or tea and reading a good book. Mitchell loved to tease his friends and family; he loved spending time with them talking about the times past and current news of the day. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his stepmother, Margie Warner; stepfather, Frank Mitchell; brother, Jackson Warner; stepbrother, Jackie Lynn; and half-sister, Shelia Warner.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Warner; son, Mitchell Bruce (Margie) Warner II; two grandchildren, Stephen (Hannah) Warner, and Mitchell (Kyra) Warner III; four great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Tyler, Allie, and Jace Warner; brother, Andrew (Sharon) Warner; three stepsiblings, Ricky (Theresa) Lynn, Shelia (John) Bottoms, and Martha (Tiny) Greene; and his dog, Lexie.

Visitation will be 11 am to 1 pm, Tuesday, June 7, 2022, with a funeral service to follow at 1 pm at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. Rev. Steve Vanhook will officiate. Burial will be at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stephen Warner, Mitchell Warner III, Drew Warner, David Scott Young, Steve Goode, Brett Young, Terri Goode, Brian Young, Timmy Young, Sam Turner.
