Mimi Smith Gordon, 86, died Sunday, March 6, 2022. She was born in Danville on June 27, 1935 to the late Sidney Bernard and Pearl Strunk Smith. Mimi attended Danville High School and later pursued a career as a Caregiver. She enjoyed attending Christian concerts, fishing, cooking and going out to eat. Mimi was an avid UK Basketball fan. She loved being with her grandchildren and adored her family. Mimi liked spending time on the lake and taking care of her cats. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, James Gordon; son, Johnny McGuire; siblings, James Carroll Smith, Sidney Bernard Smith, Julia Pauline Waugh, Helen Margaret Teaford, Anna Ruth Woodruff, Sue Rachel Lakes and Charlotte Pearl Smith.

She is survived by her son, James William McGuire of Berea; brother, Roger ‘Roddy’ Talbot Smith (Francine) of Hilton Head, South Carolina; sister, Norma Jean Buchanan of Danville; grandchildren, Jessica Kendrick (Brian), James McGuire (Amy), David Shawn McGuire (Casie); great grandchildren, McKayla, Olivia, Kyler, Allie, Ellee, Michael, Grady, James Brayden, Hutson, Shelby, Tucker, Gunner and Ryker.

The funeral service will be 1pm, Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. Rev. Greg Warren will officiate. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Kendrick, James McGuire, Shawn McGuire and Kyler Kendrick. Honorary pallbearers will be her Great Grandchildren, Roddy Smith, Gus Faeth and Charlotte Faeth.
