Mildred “Midge” Lenora Phillips Durrett, 93, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018.  She was born in Boyle County on April 13, 1925 to the late Morgan and Etta Bell Case Phillips.  Mildred attended Junction City High School and was a member of First Baptist Church of Junction City.  She was past president of the Boyle County Homemakers and Junction City Homemakers, Adult ladies Sunday school teacher, 4-H leader and council member. She was a devoted school mom and an avid reader.  Mildred loved her cats, and worked side by side with her husband on the family farm.  She had a “green thumb’ and was a plant lover and an accomplished seamstress. She is predeceased by her husband Frank Durrett.

She is survived by two daughters, Lisa (Doc) Norvell, Sherri Morgan Pate; a sister, Neoma Peavey; two grandchildren, Ryan Norvell and Jacob Pate, one great grandchild, Austin Norvell, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2018 at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City.  Rev. Dale Denton and Stacy Wilson will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Glenn Peavey, John Peavey, Gary Wayne Phillips, Ryan Norvell, Bill Durrett, and Breck Cochran.  Honorary pallbearers will be First Baptist Church of Junction City Sunday School Class and Deacons, Nellie and Leonard Upton and David Shelton.  Interment will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the funeral home in Junction City.  Memorial donations are suggested to First Baptist Church Building Fund or Heritage Hospice.
