Matthew Lynn Shepherd, 70, died November 13, 2021. He was born September 15, 1951 in Danville, son of the late Ancil Logan and Emma Childress Shepherd. Matt graduated from Boyle County High School in 1969. He was a member of Junction City United Methodist Church and was part of the worship band. For many years Matt owned and operated the Wooden Nickel Enterprise which later became, Matt’s Rentals and Special Events. He loved music, had written over 40 songs, and loved playing his guitar in several bands including, ACME Dynamite Company. Matt was a huge fan of the University of Louisville Cardinals. He brought joy to many people and made the world a better place for just being in it.

He is survived by his beloved Evelyn; two sons, Matthew Lynn (Tausha) Shepherd, II, and Andrew Logan Shepherd; two grandchildren, Emrey Kate Shepherd, and Dalton Jaxon Stone; two brothers, Jack Logan (Mary) Shepherd of Danville, and Donald Lee Shepherd of Junction City; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be 1 pm, Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Junction City United Methodist Church. Rev. Key Min Lee and Rev. Kyle Long will officiate the service. Burial will be at Danville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Matthew Shepherd, II, Andrew Shepherd, Dalton Stone, Logan Shepherd, Troy Owens, Kris Logue, and Mark Bauder. Honorary pallbearers will be the Boyle County Football team. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11 am to 1 pm at Junction City United Methodist Church. Memorial donations are suggested to Heritage Hospice and Commonwealth Cancer Center. Please sign the guestbook and send a Hug from Home.
