Marshall L. Devine, 92, passed away on Oct 26, 2017, in St. Cloud, Florida. He was born in Danville, the son of Purdom and Artie Devine. He lived in central Kentucky until his move to Kissimmee, FL in 1987. He was a retired manager for Southern States Coop. in Georgetown, KY and had been a tobacco farmer. He was an active member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church while living in Danville and later at the Neptune Road Baptist Church in Florida. Mr. Devine was a decorated US Army Veteran, serving our country with Honor and Distinction. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in Germany in WWII.

He is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Short (Tom) of Cincinnati, grandchildren, Sarah Sawyer, Boerne, TX and Daniel (Cate) Sawyer, Chapel Hill, NC and great grandsons, Eli and Evan Sawyer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Izora Cox Devine, his parents and his sister, Lucille Steele.

The funeral will be held on Thurs. Nov 2, 2017 at Stith Funeral Home in Danville, Kentucky. The service will begin at 1 P.M. with visitation from 11 AM-1 P.M. with Rev. Tommy Valentine officiating. Burial will follow the service at Bellevue Cemetery with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post #18. Memorial donations are suggested to American Legion Honor Guard in care of Lynn Young, P.O. Box 74, Stanford, KY 40484. A Memorial Service will be held on November 13, 2017 at 11:00 am at Neptune Road Baptist Church, Kissimmee, Florida.
