Lillie Mae Byrd Bond, 64, of Danville, died Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.  She was born March 1, 1954 in Hazel Green, Wolfe County, Kentucky, daughter of the late William Everett and Lillie Frances Fallen Byrd.  She graduated from the George Rogers Clark High School in Winchester and the Danville School of Practical Nursing.  Lillie was an LPN and retired from Ephraim McDowell Hospital. She was a member of the Danville Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints.  She was a very good mother, always there for her sons and advocated for deaf rights.  She was an active parent at the Kentucky School for the Deaf and on the Parent Teacher Council Association.  Lillie was a wonderful grandmother to her four grandchildren, and although she was strict with her children, she didn’t know how to be strict with her grandchildren.  She was the widow of Fred Bond. She is predeceased by two brothers, William Everett (Billy) Byrd, Earl Lynn Byrd, Steve Collinsworth and a sister Betty Fate (Collinsworth) Mansfield.

Lillie is survived by her sons, Frederick Byron Bond and Michael Brandon Bond, both of Danville; four grandchildren, Torrie, Dakota Abigail and Gabriel Bond; six brothers James Henry Byrd, Larry Wayne Byrd, Paul Douglas Byrd, John Boone (JB) Collinsworth, Jack Collinsworth, Kenneth (Kenny) Collinsworth; a sister Lula (Collinsworth) Humphrey and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2019, Stith Funeral Home, Danville.  Burial will be in the Junction City Cemetery. Elder Quorum President, Dennis Cox will officiate. Visitation will be 12 p.m. – 2 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2019, Stith Funeral Home, Danville. Donations may be made to the family in care of Stith Funeral Home.
