Kenneth Earl Vogt, 88, of Danville, Kentucky was called home to his heavenly father Friday, October 16, 2020. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on January 24, 1932 to the late Franklin and Ethel Hottel Vogt. Kenneth was a 1951 graduate of Valley High School in Louisville and earned his business certificate from Lincoln Institute. He served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955, serving in the Korean Conflict and was a recipient of the Korean Medal. He was a parishioner of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church and served as President of Danville Manor Business Association. Kenneth owned and operated Ann Herbert Fashion Shop in 1970 located in Danville Manor and Ken’s Korner Mart in Harrodsburg. He enjoyed woodworking, painting, gardening, square dancing and going on walks. Kenneth loved watching football, softball, and bowling. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by two brothers, Frank William Vogt, George Edward Vogt and a sister, Dorothy Vogt Ludwig.

He is survived by his wife, of 63 years, Melvina Sue Rhodes Vogt; two daughters, Julie Anne Vogt Wachal (Bill), Joan Susan Vogt Sandfoss (the late Ray); and one son, Richard Kenneth Vogt (Yvonne); five grandchildren, Kiersten Sandfoss Baughman (Michael), Nikki Michelle Wachal, Kenton Ray Sandfoss, Sydney Carol Vogt, Bethany Sue Vogt; one great grandson, Ethan Drake; his niece, Linda Ann Ludwig Stivers; his nephew, Larry Wayne Ludwig; five sister-in-laws, Joyce, Carolyn, Sandra, DeLaine and Gail; numerous nieces and nephews and Annie Marie his cockatiel buddy.

The funeral mass will be11:30am, Friday, October 23, 2020 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Father Anthony McLaughlin will be the celebrant. Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus as follows, Ambrose Braunecker, Leroy Merkling, Art Moore, Tom Long, Jerry Meyer and Kevin Heighton. Burial will be at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be 10am – 11:30am, prior to the mass, Friday, October 23, 2020 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 117 West Main Street, Danville, Kentucky 40422 or Heritage Hospice, 120 Enterprise Drive, Danville, Kentucky 40422.
