Karen Sue Polston Correll passed away on the morning of August 21st at the age of 72. She is survived by her husband, Michael Ray Correll, three sisters; Imogene Stevens, Nett Stevenson, and Marie Wiggington, her daughter Shannon, son in law Paul, and one granddaughter, Michaela.

Born to Ivy Wolford and Stella Anderson Polston on October 2nd of 1948, Karen was the youngest of seven. She married Michael Ray Correll on September 30th of 1967 and gave birth to her only child, Shannon Lee (Correll) Blanton on July 14th, 1971.

A devout Christian, Karen was a founding member of her church, Unity Baptist in Danville, Kentucky.

Karen always put her family first. She gave all of her love and energy to raising her daughter and building a life with her husband. Her sisters were never far from her mind, and she loved their families as her own. She always had an open door and an open heart, welcoming Paul Blanton into her home even before he married Shannon. Karen loved freely, without reservation. She ensured that the women in her family grew up to be bold and fearless so that they would never doubt their worth.

Karen goes on to meet a multitude of loved ones in the afterlife—her parents, her two brothers Arnold and Vinous Polston, her sister Aline Miller, and granddaughter Gabrielle Blanton, to name a few.

Karen Correll’s life has permanently altered the path of her descendants for generations to come. She will be missed. She will not be forgotten.

The visitation and service will be Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Unity Baptist Church, 1300 Hustonville Rd, Danville Ky, 40422. The visitation begins at 5pm and the service will begin at 7pm.
