Judith Harper Poynter,76, died Wednesday, September 14, 2022, in her home, surrounded by her family. Born June 21, 1946 in Westchester, Ohio to the late Ronald and Kathryn Stewart Harper. She was affectionately known as “Little Miss Judy,” to her VFW Auxiliary, Am Vets, and American Legion Ladies H Auxiliary, who she loved and worked hard for. Her life-long loves were her family, music, and singing. She was a country cook and loved both entertaining and catering. Judy was the owner of Poynter’s Floor Covering for forty years.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers, Darrell Harper, Bea Harper, David Harper, and Doyle Harper; and a sister, Joyce Cooper.
She is survived by her children, Kelly (Boobie) Poynter; Shelly O’Bryan, and Tojnia (Larry) Kidwell; her brothers, Paul (Gail) Harper, Gary (Kate) Harper, and Jack (Darlene) Harper; her sisters, Linda (Vernon) Woods, Norma (Ralph) Theis, Delorse Keeton, and Donna Martin; her grandchildren, Brittney (Matthew) Groves, Craig (Brittany) Lyons, Weston (Anna) Poynter, Summer Poynter, Cameron (Angela) Foster, Ty (Kasey) Foster, and Remington (Kenzie) Foster; and her great-grandchildren, Leighton, Kymber, Elli, Harper, Walker, Adalynn, Amelia, and Fletcher.
The visitation will be Monday, September 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Stith Funeral Home in Danville, Kentucky. The Celebration of Life will be Monday, September 19 at 1 p.m. at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. There will be a meal at American Legion Hall on Spears Lane following the service.
