Joseph R. Petry, 72, died Tuesday, March 12, 2019.  He was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 23, 1946 to the late Wayne L. and Anna Quirk Petry.  Joseph worked for K.B. Toys as a Warehouse Manager.  He was a member of the Knights and a coordinator for the Ministry for Persons with disabilities with the Catholic Diocese of Lexington.  Joseph was involved with the building commissions for the Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Mary Petry of Danville; a son, Joseph A. (Christopher) Petry of Windell, North Carolina; a daughter, Carol (Troy) Cook of Norfold, Virgina; a brother, Michael Petry of Florida; two sisters, Carol (John) Alvarado of Northbrook, Illinois and Cathy Petry of Gurner, Illinois; three grandchildren, Anna Cook, Carl Raymond Holland and Christopher Cook.

The Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.  Rev. Norman Fischer will be the celebrant.  Visitation will be 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Sts.
