John Elmer Miller, 84, died December 21, 2018. He was born in New Brighton, Pennsylvania on November 23, 1934 to the late Elmer Lawerence and Mary Hazel Shaffer Miller. John graduated from Geneva College and served in the Army. After college he was employed as an Engineer at Matthews and Rexnord Conveyor. He is the former owner of Candlelight and Roses and most recently was nighttime auditor at the Marriott. John was a devoted husband, who loved his family, UK basketball and was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul.

He is survived by his wife, Joan R. Miller of Lexington; daughters, Renee Miller (Doug) James of Lancaster and Crissy (Rich Knepfler) Miller of Bonita Springs, Florida; a son, Bill (Stacy) Miller of Dayton, Ohio; a niece, Janet Wise; grandchildren, Omar “John” Ghani, Karli Knepfler, Hannah James, Samantha Miller, “Xander” Miller, Nate Miller, and Liam Miller.

Mass will be 12:00 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2018 at Ss. Peter and Paul. Celebrant will be Father Alan Carter. Burial will be Friday, December 28, 2018 in Camp Nelson National Cemetery, visitation will be 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Stith Funeral Home, Danville.
