Joanne Singleton Green, 85, died December 9, 2021, in Danville, Kentucky. Born July 1, 1936, in Moreland, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Claude Lee and Lyda Pearl Russell Singleton. Joanne was a graduate of Hustonville High School, the Nazareth School of Nursing in Lexington, where she received a degree as a registered nurse, and St. Mary’s College in Cincinnati, where she received a degree as a pediatric nurse practitioner. She was a member of the Disciples of Christ, First Christian Church. Joanne was a loving mother and devoted daughter, who enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, reading, and traveling with her son. She adored her dog, Shauna, and cats, Misty and Mikey.
Joanne is survived by her son, Larry Lee Green (Gary Taniguchi) of San Francisco; and her special friend, Dr. Robert Fowler.
Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 6 pm, Monday, December 13, 2021, at Stith Funeral Home in Danville, Kentucky. Funeral service will be at 11 am on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Stith Funeral Home in Danville, Kentucky. Rev. Brent Rowe will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Celia Love, Judith Miracle, Randall Riley, Mike Singleton, Gary Taniguchi and Vaughn Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Fowler and Dr. Sam Reid. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society are suggested. Masks and social distancing will be required.
