Joan Crawford Caldwell Sinkhorn Cooley, 86, died Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Rockcastle Regional Medical Center.  Born August 19, 1932 in Danville, she was the daughter of the late David “Mac” McMurty and Edith Farmer Preston Caldwell.  Joan attended Junction City High School.  She was a homemaker, operated the family farm and had a paper route.  Joan was the widow of Carl “June” Sinkhorn who was killed in a car accident when their children were very young and the widow of Clarence Alvin “Al” Cooley whom she lovingly cared for during a long illness. She was also predeceased by an infant son, David Lee Sinkhorn, a brother, Arthur Caldwell, and a sister, Nancy Preston LeMay. She was a strong woman who never lost her love of her family and life but told them recently she had been strong long enough.

She is survived by her children, Teresa Sinkhorn McGhee and her son, Donald McGhee; Carl “Bozo” (Janice) Sinkhorn and their children, Carl Sinkhorn Jr., Melissa, Nathan and Christine; Betty Jo Sinkhorn (Mike) Carter and their children, Brian Carter, Joe Woody (Kyla) Carter and Nikki Carter; Mike (Terri) Cooley and their children, Sarah (Lewis) Hines and Zach Cooley; Tim (Teresa) Cooley and their children, Leslie and Felicia Cooley; Joe (Lisa) Cooley and their children, Alex Cooley, Jessica Hubbard and Jennifer Cooley; Chris (Barbie) Cooley and their children, Abby and Ashaley Cooley  and Amy (Peter Grigsby) Cooley and her grandchildren, Isaiah, Mariah, Trinity Skye, Jasmine, Alisia, Lupe James, Maddix and Bennett.

The funeral will be 1 p.m., Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home, Danville.  Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Stith Funeral Home, Danville.  Memorial donations are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation.
