Jewel Elizabeth Banks Day, 75, died Thursday, June 23, 2022, in Harrodsburg. She was born October 9, 1946, in Whitesburg, Ky, to the late Bert and Martha Banks. Jewel was a graduate of Whitesburg High School. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading, listening to music, and spending time with her family. She is predeceased by her husband, Bobby Ray Day; a brother, James Burt Banks; a sister, Sylvia Catherine Sturgill; and a son-in-law, Charles DeRousse.

Jewel is survived by a daughter, Lisa D. DeRousse and a special daughter Lisa Douglas; two grandchildren, Amanda Lynn and Tiffany McCowan; two greatgrandchildren, Marley Ray Hanekom and Ian Rylee Hanekom; two sisters, RubyJean Howard of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Mattie Evadean (Glenn) Webb of Whitesburg; a brother, John Q. Day of Whitesburg; and two brother-in-law’s, David (Millie) Banks and Ercel Sturgill of Fairborn, OH.

Visitation will be 11 am – 1 pm, Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville with funeral service to follow at 1 pm. Jim King will officiate.
