Janice Marie Greene Ballinger, 68, died Saturday, December 22, 2018. She was born October 4, 1950 in Junction City to Fred A. and Mary Ada Young Greene. Jan graduated from Boyle County High School in 1968. She loved her family and all children and frequently kept in touch with her friends. Jan enjoyed her position in Customer Relations as she helped open the Office Depot in Danville and worked at The Advocate-Messenger and Lowes and had been a bookkeeper for several businesses. Jan was an avid UK and NASCAR fan and was a member of Junction City First Baptist Church. She was predeceased by three brothers, William Carl Greene, Marcus Gene Greene and James Oscar “Jay” Greene.

She is survived by a sister, Mary Greene Dotson of Danville; brothers, Don H. (Helen) Greene of Boyle Co., Clyde (Ann) Greene of Alum Springs and Freddie D. (Lisa) Greene of Alum Springs and several nieces and nephews and their families.

Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2018 at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. Rev. Choe Sergent will officiate. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Lester Dale Dotson, James Colin Dotson, Larry Kendrick, Jacob Kendrick, Freddie Clyde Greene, David Greene, Andy Greene, Jed Greene and Jonathan Sharpe. Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces and great nieces. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 1 p.m. prior to the service at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. Memorial donations are suggested to Wilderness Trace Child Development Center.
