Morris, James Thomas Jr.,

64, died January 27th, 2023, at his home following an illness with his family by his side.

He is reunited with his parents, James T Morris Sr. and Laura Lynn Morris.

He is survived by his wife, Kristy Morris, and four children, Kara Elizabeth Bastin (Kevin), James Thomas Morris III (Ainsley), Anne Chenault Morris, and Owen Matthew Morris. He is also survived by his siblings Michael Stoner Morris (Dianna), Julian Lynn Morris (Fran), Stephen Walker Morris (Sarah), Laura Chenault Morris (Tina), four grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Jimbo grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, and attended Eastern High School, where he discovered a passion for sports and music. He continued his education at Eastern Kentucky University, where he became a proud member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. After college, he went on to reconnect with an old high school friend who became his wife, Kristy, and they began a beautiful family. He was an amazing father, grandfather, uncle, son, brother, youth coach, and friend. He made a career of helping others. For several years he worked with children at the United Methodist Home in Versailles, KY, then went on to not only be a caseworker for adults with intellectual disabilities but took in three individuals over the years in his family home.

After raising his family in Lexington, Kentucky, he and his wife purchased fifty acres of land in North Garrard, where he has spent the last years of his life doing what he grew to love most, mowing and enjoying the outdoors. He loved spending time with his family at “The Shire.”

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 4th, at his daughter Kara’s home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jimbo’s name to:
