I wrote this on November 19, 2019: "My neighbor Jim has a voice like bourbon. When he speaks I understand how Karen fell in love with him, and I wonder if he still sets her heart a-flutter. He cut down that little bush for me & told me not to park in the garage when it's expected to ice, said I'll never make it up the hill, but "hill" from his mouth had about 5 syllables and each one just as smooth as anything." I will miss hearing his voice float in through my open windows.
