Homer Lee Vanover, Jr. passed away surrounded by his family on December 28, 2022.  He was born in Stanford, KY on September 21, 1946, to the late Homer Lee and Aileen Johnson Vanover. Homer was a manufacturing mechanic at Corning and then Philips Lighting for over 20 years.  Homer’s only wish was for those he met to be happy. He was a very humble man with a caring soul and will be remembered for his witty sense of humor. Homer loved his family, especially his grandkids.   He particularly enjoyed deer hunting, gardening, and his Cincinnati Reds. Homer is predeceased by his brother, Gary Vanover, and his son, Jason Vanover.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Nancy Perry Vanover, a daughter, Cara (Eric) Rogers, and brother Vincent (Mary Anne) Vanover, and his grandchildren, Taylor Vanover, Jacob Rogers, and Savannah Vanover.  Also, his great-grandchildren, Maci Christison, and Kamaree Simpson.

The service will be at 1 pm on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, and the visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Pallbearers are his beloved family, Cara Rogers, Eric Rogers, Jacob Rogers, Taylor Vanover, Savannah Vanover, and Vincent Vanover. Honorary pallbearers will be Buren Lanham, Jimmy Benge, Chester Travillian, Destinee Meeser, Jon Leonard, Charlie Perry, Bob Miller, and Brian Clarkson.  Rev. Kyle Stachewicz will officiate.  The burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. Don Hamner, Anita Kinley, and Heritage Hospice. Memorial donations are suggested to Heritage Hospice.
