Heston Marise Young, 84, died Thursday, March 30, 2017. He was born June 20, 1932 in Paintsville, KY to the late Walter and Esther Lawless Young. Self-proclaimed nickname of Heston “the Beston” Young. He attended Mt. Freeman Baptist Church every Sunday evening. Heston loved fishing, camping, gardening vegetables (not flowers), and driving fast while listening to Bluegrass music. He also loved his wood stove, and had a huge sweet tooth. Heston was a member of the Earlybird Breakfast Club at Hardee’s. He served 2 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and 18 years in the United States Air Force as a E6 Staff Sargent. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Moira M. Young and two sons Timothy and Stephen Young.

He is survived by his two daughters, Deb A. (Donn) Bryant, and Laura (Phillip Brinegar) Griggs of Lexington, KY, a brother Vernon (Christine) Young of Harrodsburg, KY, seven grandchildren, James Bryant, Benjamin Bryant, Danielle Bryant, Will Bryant, Sam Bryant, Christopher Disponette, Laken Brinegar, three great grandchildren, Braxton Bryant, Ryland Bryant, Noelle Bryant, and several in laws in England and his trusty beloved companion, Chuck II (his dog).

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City. Officiated by Rev. Curtis Brock, pallbearers will be James Bryant, Will Bryant, Sam Bryant, Ben Bryant, Donn Bryant, and Phillip Brinegar. Honrary pallbearers will be the Hardee’s Breakfast Club. Interment will be at Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. day of service. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass or Heritage Hospice in lieu of flowers.
