Helen Marie Sargent Wilburn, 79, died Friday, February 24, 2017. Born October 2, 1937 in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Marion Lee and Osie Mae Neikirk Sargent. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Run Baptist Church. Helen was a faithful Christian woman who loved her church and her family unconditionally. She liked to read, having read her Bible many times through and was constantly learning through the books she read. She was dedicated to her family and enjoyed cooking and canning for all the generations and enjoyed their company. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her son, Jerry Allen Wilburn and a brother, Johnny Sargent.

She is survived by her husband, James Thomas “Tom” Wilburn Sr., five children, James “Peewee” (Margaret) Wilburn, Billy (Diana) Wilburn, both of Junction City, Bobby (Vickie) Wilburn of Stanford, Vonda Vonlinger and Marty (Charlotte) Wilburn, both of Junction City; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a brother, Robert (Anne) Sargent of Florida.

The funeral will be 1 p.m., Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. Rev. Earnest Fields, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Junction City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Luke Wilburn, Devin Wilburn, Hagan Wilburn, Andre`Alcorn, Ean Daly, Evan Daley, Kody Sacco, Zack Wilburn and Kyler Elswick. Visitation will be after 5 p.m., Tuesday, at Stith Funeral Home, Junction City. Memorial donations are suggested to Pleasant Run Baptist Church.
