Harold J. Reynolds, 91, died Tuesday, August 29, 2017. He was born in Broughtontown, Kentucky on June 22, 1926 to the late Cloyd and Hazel Anderson Reynolds. Harold was a retired farmer, and retired from Corning Glass. He was a United States Navy Veteran, having served during WWII. Harold enjoyed farming, basketball, and loved watching all sports. He played basketball for Crab Orchard while in school. He attended First Baptist Church in Danville where he was the Brotherhood Director for South District Association, former deacon, Sunday school teacher, and brotherhood leader in church. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by two brothers, Brad Reynolds, Raymond Reynolds, three sisters, Sula Martin, Audrey Blankenship, and Evelyn Taylor.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Reynolds of Danville, a son, Dennis (Betsy) Reynolds of Somerset, two daughters, Pat (Vic) Boyd of Salvisa, Janet Estes of Danville, two brothers, James Reynolds of Somerset, Eugene Reynolds of Russellville, two sisters, Elizabeth Hawkins of Indiana, Glenda Estes of Stanford, nine grandchildren, Rebecca (Robert) Easley, Katherine (Lucas) Sublett, Benjamin Reynolds, Amber Estes, Sarah Jane Estes (Adalberto) Castellon, Robin Nichole Estes, Morgan McKenzie Boyd, Justin Boyd, Tristan Boyd, and eight great-grandchildren, Emerson Easley, Shelby Easley, Samuel Sublett, Adalberto Castellon III, Maci Boyd, Toby Boyd, Skye Boyd, and Cameron Boyd.
The funeral service will be at 1pm on Friday, September 1, 2017, First Baptist Church, Danville. Rev. Tim Mathis will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Hawkins, Bobby Hawkins, Mike Estes, Tim Estes, Ben Reynolds, Ed Bailey, and David Patterson. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Sunday School Class, Benny Goode, George Coldiron, Buddy Furr, and Dick Lough. Interment will be in Bellevue Cemetery, Danville. Visitation will be 11am – 1pm, Friday at the church prior to the service.
