Gladys Mae Brackett Parker, 91, died Friday, November 10, 2017. She was born in Lancaster, Kentucky on February 11, 1926 to the late William Foster and Betty Yocum Brackett. She retired from Corning Glass in Harrodsburg. Gladys was a caregiver for her in-laws and her great grandchild, after retirement. She was very devoted to her church, First Church of God. Gladys was the sweetest person in the world. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 70 years, Forrest Parker; a son, Gary Wayne Parker; six brothers, Elwood, Clay, Tom, James, Manuel, and Vester Brackett; and four sisters, Florence Dennis, Della Naylor, Mildred Gipson, and Lillian Gaffney.

She is survived by two daughters, Naomi Carol (the late Bill) Devine of Danville, Rebecca Ann (Eddie Layton) Settles; two grandchildren, Amy (Coby) Gammon, Robbie (Nicole) Tharp; five great-grandchildren Jake Gammon, Tyrin Richardson, Lyric Houston, Ryann Tharp, and Isabella Gammon; a brother-in-law, Clay Gaffney; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 1pm, Tuesday, November 14, 2017, Stith Funeral Home, Danville. Rev. Kevin Cummins will officiate. Pallbearers will be Buddie Rogers, Eddie Layton, Robbie Tharp, Coby Gammon, Jake Gammon, and Roy Gibson. Honorary pallbearers will be Lori Byrd, Monica Ball, LaDonna Ball, Wanda Burgess, and Lisa Centers. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will be 11am-1pm, Tuesday, prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to The First Church of God in Danville.
