On Friday, April 26, 2019, George Francis White, loving and devoted husband and father of six children and ten grandchildren, passed peacefully at the age of 92. He was born in Perryville on January 4, 1927 to the late Lillie Mae Coyle White and Judge Gilbert Lee White. George was a graduate of Danville High School and the University of Kentucky. He was one of the oldest living original members of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church. He married his beloved wife, Peggy, 70 years ago on August 29, 1948. George served in the United States Navy during World War II and retired from The Williamson Company after 30 years as a Sales Engineer. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a sister, Imogene Bottorff and a brother-in-law Jeptha Jett.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Cassell White of Danville; two sons, David Alan White of Lexington, Stephen Douglas (Kathy) White of Danville; four daughters, Nancy Lee White (Dr. Gregg) Neikirk of Westfield, Massachusetts, Kathy (Baxter) East of Garrard County, Bev (Jeff) Starks of Lexington; Janie (Jim) Murphy of Pickerington, Ohio; a sister, Martha Jett; a brother-in-law, Charles Bottorff; a sister-in-law, Helen Cassell Crews; ten grandchildren, Adam Neikirk, Lee Neikirk, Ben (Melissa) White, Dan (Myra) White, Eric (Ashley) East, Andrea East (Clay) Contini, Joe (Katie) Starks, Connor Starks, Ali Murphy (Trevor) Burkett and Logan Murphy and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Lexington Ave. Baptist Church. Rev. Basil Hall and Rev. Ernest Martin will officiate.  Burial in Bellevue Cemetery will be private.  Pallbearers will be his grandsons.  Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Servants Sunday School Class at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church.  Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, April 29, 2019 at the church. Memorial donations are suggested to the Lexington Ave. Baptist Church, Capital Campaign or the UK Sanders Brown Center on Aging.
