Gary Wayne Wilson, 67, died Monday, November 6, 2017. He was born in Danville. Kentucky on May 3, 1950 to the late Hobart Russ and Josephine Bryant Wilson. Gary attended Boyle County High School and was employed by Epps Trucking as a truck driver. Gary enjoyed NASCAR and dirt track car races and had worked at Ponderosa Race Track. He seized the opportunity to race himself once. In addition to his parents, Gary is predeceased by two brothers, James Stewart Wilson and Jerry Lee Wilson.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Clark Wilson; two sons, Gary Michael Wilson of Knoxville, TN and Morgan Wayne Wilson of Lexington, KY; four daughters, Thelma Jean McElroy of Indiana, Georgann (Johnny) Smith of London, KY, Crystal (Jorge) Merino of Junction City, KY and Jasmine (Robert) Appleton of Lexington, KY; one brother Hobart ‘Buddy’ (Wanda) Wilson of Danville, KY; eleven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 12, 2017, at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City. Rev. Andrea Daugherty and Rev. Jody Coontz will officiate. Interment will be in Wilson-Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m., Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Stith Funeral Home in Junction City. Contributions are suggested to the Wilson Family.
