Gary Alan Montgomery, 61, died February 20, 2020 at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington. Born October 2, 1958 in Danville to the late G T Montgomery and Martha Frances Gordon Montgomery. Gary was a 1976 Danville High School graduate and received a bachelor’s degree at Eastern Kentucky University. He lived the values of God, family, and work. Gary loved being a father and a “G-Pa”, sing while making breakfast, walking on the beach with his kids, and UK basketball. Gary was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. He was a package car driver for UPS. He loved the customers and dogs on his Southern Jessamine County route. In addition to his father G T, he is predeceased by his sister, Sandy.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Hale Montgomery; two daughters, Tracy (Jesse) Meiers of Lexington and Maria Montgomery of Lexington; a son, Maxx Montgomery of Danville; two grandchildren, Murphie and Marley Meiers; his mother, Martha Frances Montgomery of Danville; two brothers, Ronnie Montgomery of Danville and Danny (Anita) Montgomery of Danville; and his precious princess pup, Calipari.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Danville. Rev. George Smith, Cameron Mills and Mike Gordon will officiate the service. Visitation will be 4 p.m. – 8 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2020 at Stith Funeral Home in Danville.
