Frank Alexander Kennan, son of Robert Kennan and Elizabeth Kennan Burns, stepson of Michael Burns, died peacefully at his home on Cambus-Kenneth Farm in the morning of January 21, 2023. He was 55. His closest family included his caretakers, led by JoAnn Metcalf, who loved and ministered to Alex in a humane and exemplary way over recent years. Our prayers are with them. Courageous through life’s many challenges, with a kindness and cheerfulness that brought smiles to all who met him, Alex was happiest when sailing with friends in the waters off Boston’s North Shore. He loved the adventures of Robert Louis Stevenson, and is now, by the grace of God, a sailor at peace, home from the sea. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Alex’s memory may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church or St. James AME Church, both of Danville.
