Elliott Claude Hankes, 81, of Davenport Iowa, passed away June 24, 2023. He was born to the late Matthew and Lillie Wiggington Hankes on February 19, 1942. Elliott retired from Nestle-Purina where he worked for over 30 years, most recently as a forklift operator, but he had worked in nearly every department during his tenure there.

Elliott is survived by his beloved wife, Sheila Wooton Hankes; children, Jeffrey Hankes, Diane (Reggie Davis)Smith-Davis and Gerald (Christine) Hankes; grandchildren, Kathleen (Daniel) Jacobs, Michael (Angela) Smith, Emily (Zach Dake) Hankes, Sarah (Keagan) Rigg, Rebecca Hankes, Mary (Tyler) Edwards, Jessica Hankes, Abigail Hankes, Daniel Hankes and Madison Davis Hay; and great-grandchildren, Peyton Wood, Audrey Jacobs, Hunter Smith, Matthew Jacobs, Waylon Smith, Olivia Jacobs, Aspen Dake, Scarlett Rigg and Elizabeth Edwards.

The visitation will be 4 p.m. – 6 p.m., Friday, June 30, 2023, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The Celebrant will be Father Danny Schwendemen. The burial will be at Bellevue Cemetery.

Serving as Pallbearers are Michael Smith, Peyton Wood, Gerald Hankes, Danny Jacobs, Jeff Hankes, Kevin Fielder, Tyler Edwards and Hunter Smith.
