Edith Irene Taylor Reed, 90, of Danville, died Wednesday, May 29, 2019. Born March 28,, 1929 in Casey County, Ky., she was the daughter of Zachary Thomas and Idella Wilson Taylor. She retired in 2001 following 33 years working at Cricketeer where she tailored men’s coats. She was the widow of Wesley Joseph Reed whom she was married to for 49 years. A member of Parksville Baptist Church, she had been the Children’s Leader and Director at three churches. She loved children and the youth and worked with the Junction City Elementary School “after school” program. She was predeceased by a brother, J. W. (Dora) Taylor and two sisters, Virginia Taylor and Frances (Lee) Russell.

She is survived by three brothers, Darrell (Phyllis) Taylor and Marlin (Karen) Taylor, both of Danville and William (Bonnie) Taylor of Monticello, and a sister, Madalyn Taylor (Walter) Hillis of Rock Island, Tenn.; a chosen son, Mike (Barbara) Grider of Louisville and a host of nieces and nephews including many great and great-great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Parksville Baptist Church. Her wishes were to be donated to The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and this has been honored. Memorial donations are suggested to the Building Fund at Parksville Baptist Church.
