Earl “Buddy” Donald Brinegar, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on November 18, 2023, at the age of 76. With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of a compassionate soul who dedicated his life to his family and community. He was predeceased by his grandson Terry Wayne Shields; his siblings Barbara Stringfield, Patty Fair, Mary Sue Estok, Eddie Brinegar, and Robert Brinegar.

Born on November 5, 1947, in Hamilton, Ohio, Buddy was the epitome of a caring and selfless individual. Throughout his life, he cherished his role as a husband to his loving wife Greer “Dumps” Brinegar, sharing a bond that lasted a lifetime. Together, they created a home filled with love and warmth for their children Sandy Brinegar, Mike Brinegar, Leslie (Matthew) Wolcott, Kelli (Eagen Webb) Shields, and the late Earl “Dino” Brinegar. His daughter in laws Barbie Johnson and Betty Brinegar, and son-in-law Robbie Shields. His nephews David (Tina) Hitchner and Stephen (Bethany) Estok.

As a doting grandfather to his grandchildren Brandon (Jamie) Brinegar, Devon (Tia) Brinegar, Josh Brinegar, Jenna Brinegar, Morgan Shields (Joe Ivey), Kenzie Shields (David Hager), Traci Stephens, Lainie (Jesus) Sarminto, Mason Stephens, and Sam (Briann) Brinegar, his great-grandchildren Austin, Cali, Shepherd, Leighton, Paisley, Aubrey, Noah, Hunter, Carter, Tucker, Brayden, E. J., Gia, Landon, Lincoln, Alex, and soon to be Gatton “Dino” Brinegar. Buddy showered them with love and wisdom, creating precious memories that will be cherished forever. He found joy in spending quality time with his family, creating lasting bonds, and leaving an indelible impact on their lives.

Professionally, Buddy worked as a skilled sheet metal worker in the construction industry. His dedication and expertise were evident in every project he embarked upon, serving as a proud member of Local Union #110. Buddy’s commitment to his craft was admired by all who had the pleasure of working with him.

The funeral services to honor and celebrate Buddy’s remarkable life will be at 1 p.m., on November 29, 2023at Stith Funeral Home. The public viewing will take place at Stith Funeral Home in Danville starting at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 29, 2023, prior to the service. Friends, family, and loved ones are invited to pay their respects and share their memories of Buddy.

Following the service, a graveside ceremony will be at 2:30 pm at Burgin Memorial Gardens, located at 101 Buster Pike in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. During this final farewell, Buddy will be laid to rest in eternal peace.

In this time of sorrow, let us remember Buddy’s genuine smile, his compassionate spirit, and the countless lives he touched. May his memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
