Dorothy Steigerwald Pappert, age 90, died Monday, November 22.

Born June 29th, 1931 in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late William John Steigerwald and Adele Butterhof Steigerwald. She was the second born of four children.

Before becoming a mother of four children, Dorothy was a registered nurse and airline stewardess for Capital Airlines. She was always an avid flower and vegetable gardener and was known in the family as the pie queen.

Dorothy is predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Ralph Pappert, son Mark Regis Pappert, son-in-law Bryan Young, and her sister Rita Steigerwald Bach.

She is survived by her son Karl Fredrick (Terri)Pappert of Pagosa Springs, CO; daughters Elaine P Young of Black Mountain NC, Karen P(Wickliff)Hughes of Harrodsburg KY; five grandchildren Stephen Pappert, Gregory Pappert, Ruth Hughes, Jacob Pappert, James Young; two great-grandchildren Wyatt and Greta Pappert; and two brothers William and Paul Steigerwald.

The funeral mass will be Friday, December 10th, at noon at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church with celebrant Father Anthony McLaughlin. Celebration of Life directly after mass with burial at St. Francis Cemetery in Parksville at 3 p.m. Please sign the online guestbook and send a Hugs from Home.
