Dorothia Marie Abbott Record, 100, died Saturday, December 5, 2020 in Danville. She was born on March 19, 1920 in Boyle Co., daughter of the late Lewis Calvin and Nancy Chambers Abbott. Dorothia attended Parksville Schools and was a member of Salt River Baptist Church. She worked as a seamstress at Palm Beach. Dorothia loved gardening, cooking, canning, and sewing. She was a devout Christian woman. She is predeceased by her husband, Earl Leonard Record; two sons, Gary and Buford Record; and a son-in-law, Roy Lee Compton Sr.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Compton; seven grandchildren, Roy Lee Compton Jr of Danville, Joe Mark (Amy) Compton of Independence, Marty (Christi) Record of Lebanon, Brad (Mandy) Record of Glasgow, Mike (Mary Ann Varner Osborne) Record of Knoxville, TN, Melissa Benedict of Junction City, and Tony (Joy) Record of Knoxville, TN; fourteen great-grandchildren, Brittany Morgan (Cody) Patterson, Kala Brook Compton, Jared Compton, Will Compton, Triston Record, Logan Record, Landon Record, Josh Weisner, Amanda Record, Levi Benedict, Kaelan Benedict, Rebecca Record, Jordan Record, Kendal McMahan; and fifteen great-great-grandchildren, Eden P., Isabella P. Kylie Brannan, Lillian Brannan, Kinleigh Hampson, Bailey Hampson, Jackson Record, Hallee Benedict, Rayna Benedict, Levi – Creed Benedict, Easton Benedict, Hartlee Benedict, Coltin White, Wendellyn White, and Lincoln White.

In accordance with the current pandemic regulations there will be a private family only service. Memorial donations are suggested to Salt River Baptist Church. Please sign the online guestbook or send a Hug from Home.
