Donald Robert Thomas, 79, of Junction City, died January 9th, 2023.  Born August 3, 1943, to the late Charles Lee Thomas and Dorothy Cain Thomas, he was a machine operator and team leader at Square D in Lexington, Kentucky for 38 years.  He was a 1962 graduate of Liberty High School and was a member of Mt. Freeman Baptist Church.  He loved UK basketball, gardening, fishing, and playing cards.  He was preceded in death by his sister Marguarette Henson and brother Richard Thomas.

Survivors include his daughters, Rena Thomas Harlow (John), Jennifer Thomas Leito (Jim), brothers John C. Thomas and Rolland Thomas, his sisters Floalma Thomas-McKinney and Jeanette Cochran, brothers-in-law Donnie K. Pennington (Cindy) and Dallas E. Pennington (Becky), five grandchildren: Samantha Leito Simpson (Salin), Joseph T. Harlow (Kodie), Evan R. Harlow, Jacob R. Leito (Whitney) and Genny Leito Day, and eight great-grandchildren; Lainey Harlow, Sawyer Simpson, Bennett Harlow, Olivia M. Leito, Hattie Rose Harlow, Caleb O. Leito, Silas H. Simpson and Drew Day.

The funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Stith Funeral Home in Danville.  Rev. Curtis Brock will officiate.  Visitation will be Friday, January 13, 2023 from 4 to 7 pm, also at Stith Funeral Home in Danville.  The burial will be in Junction City Cemetery.  The family suggests donations to Mt.
