Colbert E. H. Miller Jr. “Cole” passed to eternal life, at age 84 on October 30, 2023. Cole was born in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Lucille and Colbert E. H. Miller Sr. on March 30, 1939. He was a member of ATO fraternity and graduated from the University of Missouri, where he also participated in Air Force ROTC. After graduation he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force, and served honorably as a meteorologist, providing briefings and information to military pilots. Following his Air Force service, he was employed in an engineering capacity for R.R. Donnelley & Sons concluding as Manufacturing Manager in Danville, Kentucky. After beginning a successful early retirement at age 55, Cole began one of his great joys in life – 28 years of devoting thousands of hours in service to several local charities including Bluebird Market benefiting the Wilderness Trace Child Development Center and Danville’s Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Thoroughbred Car Wash was owned and operated by Cole in the 90’s. Cole also enjoyed spending time with his family, maintaining a large garden, and tending to his chickens.

Surviving Cole are his beloved wife, Jackie Stigall, his daughters Jennifer (Michael) Buss, and Melissa Mangold, his grandchildren Erica (Kevin) Roskoskey, Alex (Nida) Buss, Bridgette Mangold, Camille Mangold, great-grandchildren Sophia Buss, Cole Roskoskey, Maryam Buss, and extended family members Jennifer (Steve) Hackenberry, John (Dana) Stigall, Ryan Betlach, Ross Hackenberry, Regan Hackenberry, and Aleah Stigall. Cole was predeceased by his wife Judith Nicolai Miller who passed away in 2002.

Visitation with family members will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, at The Presbyterian Church of Danville with a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Caroline Kelly will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, Cole’s family requests remembrances be donated to Wilderness Trace Child Development Center at 409 N Stewarts Lane, Danville, KY, 40422, to continue the good work he was so dedicated to assisting during his life.
